About CLL Horizons Conference 2018
The second international conference for CLL Patient Advocates will take place 31 August to 2 September, 2018 in Prague, Czech Republic.
The Steering Committee has worked hard to ensure that the conference includes topics of importance to the CLL patient community and provides a unique opportunity for participants to share experiences and best practices.
We hope that as a result of this meeting CLL patient groups globally will improve their capacity to meet the needs of their constituents and optimise their advocacy activities.
This year we will hold CLL Horizons together with MPN Horizons, just like we did two years ago in Belgrade. All medical sessions will be held separately and some of the advocacy session will be held together.
CLL Horizons 2018 starts on Friday 31 August with an overview of CLL Horizons and our CLL101/102 Session. It will end on Sunday 2 September with a farewell lunch at 13:00. An optional city tour will follow. The programme features medical specialists and advocacy leaders from around the world.
For more information, please see the conference agenda.
Your opportunity to share! The Best Practices session will kick off this year’s advocacy sessions on Friday afternoon and will include very short presentations and concise, focused discussions on successful advocacy topics led by patient groups. The presentations should describe a key initiative that you have implemented, that other CLL patient organisations could learn from and perhaps implement as well. You should also share what went right, what didn’t quite work the way you thought it would and what you would do differently next time. The aim of the session is to provide participants with the opportunity to learn from advocacy initiatives and experience of other CLL organisations, not to learn about specific patient organisations as such.
Participants are invited to submit abstracts for this session until 31 July 2018 to firstname.lastname@example.org. The CLL Horizons Steering Committee will then review all abstracts and select those that will be presented during the session.
CLLAN will be providing free conference registration, travel and hotel stay to one delegate from each qualifying organisation, from their country of residence to Prague, Czech Republic. Transport from the airport to the conference venue and back to the airport will be provided during the dates of 30 August to 3 September 2018.
A second delegate can attend for a fee of 500 Euros and must pay their own travel expenses. The fee will cover all costs including attendance at the conference, max 4 nights of accommodation in a single room, catering, and internet access in the conference room, etc.
Conference registration does not include incidental costs like bar, minibar, room Wi-Fi, phone calls, taxi costs, upgrades for double rooms, relatives attending the conference, and any other non-official activities.
