Our governance

The CLL IC Taskforce is a multidisciplinary group of CLL advocates and clinicians from around the world aiming to raise awareness of the impact that CLL immune challenges can have and drive meaningful change in policy and practice.
Established in 2025, the CLL IC Taskforce has clear Terms of Reference which governs all of our activities. Each project is guided by a Working Group and all projects are overseen by a Steering Committee.

The CLL IC Taskforce was initiated by the CLL Advocates Network (CLLAN) and is supported with funding from AstraZeneca and Takeda.

How was the CLL IC Taskforce established?

Step-1 Virtual Workshops

In July 2024, the CLL Advocates Network (CLLAN), with agency support, hosted two virtual workshops to shape a new community-led initiative to address the immune challenges faced by people living with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL).

32 experts from 19 countries across the globe, including leading voices from the clinical and patient advocacy communities, came together to shape this initiative. The workshops were kindly supported by AstraZeneca and Takeda, setting the stage for a multi-sponsorship funding approach moving forward.

During the workshops, participants engaged in rich discussions about various policy and advocacy priorities for the future, followed by a prioritisation exercise to identify key activities for the CLL IC Taskforce.

Step-2 Consultation

In January and February 2025, CLLAN started a phase of consultation with clinical experts and advocates to help further refine the CLL IC Taskforce’s activities and workplan.
