Scope of organisation

Description

The HEMA Association was founded in January 2018 to help and support patients with hematological diseases and their caregivers. It was established by free gathering of citizens, in order to offer support and information to patients affected with hematological diseases, their caregivers and families. The aim is to lobby these patients to have better and equal access to quality and modern therapy modern treatments available to Western European patients and other developed countries. At the same time, through campaigns and other activities, to improve the quality of their lives and to raise awareness of hematological diseases.

As a result of the unmet and increased needs to support oncology patients in our country, we decided to expand our action, thus moving from HEMA to HEMA-ONCO.
We know that the path we have taken will not be easy, however we are determined, committed and with the desire and goal of working with our Government, Ministry of Health, University Clinic of Hematology and the University Clinic for Radiotherapy and Oncology.
Working together to reform our healthcare system with vision and commitment to EU standards, we believe we can achieve very positive results and benefits for cancer patients.
Our mission and cause of existence is a sincere desire to support patients and their caregivers, in the process of treating hematological as well as oncology diseases, in order to improve the quality of treatment of these patients as well as the quality of their lives.
