In Germany I hear many patients reporting a feeling of full „loss of control“ for the second time in their lives. First time was after diagnosis (“I could not do anything but trust that “wait and watch” would be the right approach”). With Corona, many patients are experiencing the same anxiety and feeling of loss of control again, in most cases driven by isolation or – in the case of those unable to isolate – the constant fear of contracting the virus. This feeling is exacerbated by the fact that high-risk patients such as CLL patients are highly dependent on the thoughtfulness and consideration of others to adapt their behaviour and stick to the rules applying during lockdown. What are your patients reporting?
