Felice was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) on March 1th 2000. Since the diagnosis, he has met other people with CML on the Internet around the world. He understands the importance of peer support: the essence of advocacy – patients supporting and defending other patients. In 2009, together with other patients, he founded the “Gruppo AIL Pazienti LMC”, the first Italian community of people with CML. In 2009, he joined, as an advocate, the CML network advocates and the ECPC. Its voluntary activity, both nationally and internationally, is oriented on the defense of the rights of patients and their families. Subsequently he worked on the development of initiatives in favour of Italian patients suffering from a blood cancer.
Since 2015, he has collaborated in setting up the CLL Advocates Network (CLLAN). The idea was born from the need to facilitate the connection between voluntary associations supporting CLL patients all over the world. He has been invited to lecture to more than 60 national and international congresses and courses on the following topics: the patients’ experience and viewpoint, Quality of Life, Patient adherence, Drug Access, PRO (Patient Reported Outcomes). He is also co-author of various scientific publications. Felice is also a member of the steering committee of CML AN and Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPN) AN.
He was born in 1958, is married to Marisa. They live in Turin (Italy). Felice is an electronic engineer, works in an automotive company as a computer security expert.
