Hong Kong Adult Blood Cancer Group Ltd. (Hong Kong)

Hong Kong Adult Blood Cancer Group, aiming at supporting patients and their families in overcoming leukemia or lymphoma through hard times of treatment, was set up by patients, family members, medical and nursing staff of the Prince of Wales Hospital in 1997. The Group is now serving all blood cancer patients in the territory. It provides peer support networks, information, and counseling for adults facing blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma.

Aims and Objectives

– to form a territory-wide peer support network and provide opportunities for patients to help themselves by helping one another
– to facilitate communication between patients and their families to cope with the stress of illness
– to increase patient’s awareness of the course of treatment and their side effects
– to draw the public’s attention to the care and needs of leukemia and lymphoma patients

Regular meetings to reach out to patients, supporting services to the patient’s family, sharing groups, recreational activities, medical talks, newsletters, counseling, public education, concern the care and advocate the rights of the patients
