This webinar mainly addresses leukaemia patients living in Northern Ireland and their loved ones, and is hosted by Leukaemia Care UK. The webinar will update and summarise Northern Ireland’s government shielding guidance and support provision, including what this means to patients and their families as shielding evolves. The panel will discuss and answer questions, while exploring themes and challenges identified by patients. What is the impact on clinical care, health and well-being. How can patients remain vigilant and mitigate their risks as they navigate the relaxing of lock-down around them.

Note: Although this webinar is specifically tailored for leukaemia patients based in Northern Ireland, it can certainly also be helpful for patients from other regions of the world. The webinar aims at building confidence and providing information in order to mitigate risks as well as cope with their ongoing care during COVID-19.

Leukaemia Care hosted this webinar on 7 May in collaboration with CLL Support. We were be joined by Dr Piers Patten, of Kings College London, and Marc Auckland, Chair of Trustees at CLL Support and CLL patient.

This webinar provided another opportunity for CLL patients to ask questions. Resources that are available to support you as shielding continues were shared and updates on shielding, treatment and the long term (where possible) were discussed.

This Webinar focused on providing broad UK CLL patient information at this time during shielding and may differ from practice in countries outside UK.

COVID-19 recommendations of haematologists for CLL and Waldenström patients

Our French member SILLC has published COVID-19 recommendations of haematologists for CLL and Waldenström patients

These recommendations were provided by FILO, the French Innovative Leukemia Organization.

The recommendations are primarily aimed at professionals; therefore, patients´ understanding and interpretation must be done with the utmost care. Questions should be discussed with the treating haematologist.
