Estonian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Patients Society / Eesti Leukeemia ja Lümfoomihaigete Liit (Estonia)

Scope of organisation

BLOOD CANCER support organisation (non-CLL-specific)

Description

Eesti Leukeemia ja Lümfoomihaigete Liit (ELLL for short), or Estonian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Patients’ Society is a non-profit and non-governmental organization aiming to unite all those living in Estonia affected by blood malignancies. The organization is patient run, but in addition we accept as members patients’ family members and friends, relevant health workers and other supporters.
ELLL was created to stand for the rights of leukaemia patients’ in receiving the treatment they need. We have grown to represent patients of other blood malignancies such as lymphoma and myeloma and now aim to stand for their right to receive effective individual medical care, improve the quality of life, and prolong life expectancy of all blood malignancies’ patients. The goal of Estonian Leukaemia Patients’ Society is to promote the ideas and opinions of patients in decisions affecting their lives by organizing educational events for our members and rising awareness by creating accurate and thorough materials for a wider variety of interested parties (including members of the public). Due to small population of Estonia, the number of our members is also small, thus, we can offer very personal patient support. We update our patient information materials on the webpage frequently, and the information is thorough
