Peter Haggert
Steering Committee Member & Chair

Peter joined CLL Advocates Network’s Steering Committee in October 2023. After being unexpectedly diagnosed with CLL in 2019, Peter redirected his public service efforts towards the CLL community.

Elected Chair of CLL Advocates Network (CLLAN) in October 2024, he helps lead CLLAN’s efforts in data gathering, recognition of secondary immune deficiency, and the need for shared decision-making for patients.

Identifying the unmet needs of people with CLL from the day of diagnosis has been a particular focus of his advocacy, as someone living with CLL and currently on active monitoring. Building on its strong European base, CLLAN continues to expand globally under his leadership. He speaks globally and has participated in numerous CLL workshops, conferences, publications, and policy development sessions.

He is Vice Chair and Treasurer of CLL Canada, an organization that provides education and works to improve access to healthcare for Canadians affected by CLL and SLL.

He lives in Toronto, Canada, with his wife, Felice.
